Introducing 3ds Max: 3D for Beginners by Dariush Derakhshani, Randi L. Munn, and Jon McFarland (Paperback - 10 April 2007) - Hello. I did like this book and it is usefull. But what i hate about it is you read a little on the sections and then there is a piece of work already on cd, which is almost complete, which they want you to continue. How do you get to learn if people are doing the things for you and not explaining them clearly?I want a book that explains each individual step, by step. You can learn by your mistakes that way.Simple

Max 9 for beginners - I bought this book together with the Max 9 bible.I have found it extremely useful and easy to understand. It doesnt pretend to be an in depth user guide to Max 9 but has some interesting projects and some really helpful tutorials. I used this book as an easier, less daunting, teaching tool as opposed to the Max Bible which I now use as a reference. If you are new to Max and the workings of such 3D pograms then i truly recommend this bookJT

Excellent for the beginner - Bought this book to help with learning 3DS max which has quite a steep learning curve. So far I have found it very helpful, and most importantly easy to understand. If your just starting out with Max then you wont go far wrong with this title.
